Introduction
Susie Stitch is the creative identity of Susie Finlayson, a textile artist and embroidery tutor based in the Scottish Borders. Susie teaches accessible embroidery workshops, runs residential courses and contributes to significant community art projects across Scotland.
Lookhere Solutions created a new logo, visual identity and website that bring these different strands together while capturing Susie’s warmth, expertise and passion for traditional craft.
Services
The brief
Susie needed a professional identity that would feel established and distinctive without losing the friendly, personal quality of her workshops.
The website also needed to communicate more than simply what classes were available. It had to tell Susie’s story, explain different embroidery techniques, showcase her involvement in major community projects and make it easy for prospective students, groups and collaborators to get in touch.
Objectives
Developing the brand
The new Susie Stitch identity was designed to feel handcrafted, characterful and contemporary.
The colours draw from the Fraser tartan and the icon resembles a cross stitch knot. The primary colour is teal green reflecting the relaxing nature of embroidery.
The final logo reflects the heritage, texture and detail of Susie’s work while remaining clear and versatile across the website, printed materials and social media.

Organising Susie’s story
One of the main challenges was bringing together several parts of Susie’s work within a clear and engaging structure.
The website introduces visitors to Susie’s background and training before guiding them towards the areas most relevant to them: workshops, residential courses, embroidery techniques or community projects.
Detailed project pages showcase Susie’s involvement with larger-scale community projects the prominence it deserves while demonstrating her experience to potential collaborators and commissioning organisations.

Website design and development
The website uses generous photography, tactile details and a natural colour palette to place Susie’s embroidery at the centre of the design.
Clear calls to action help visitors explore upcoming classes, discover residential workshops or contact Susie about talks and group sessions. The responsive layout ensures that project galleries, workshop details and contact information remain easy to use across desktop, tablet and mobile devices.
The website was also structured with future growth in mind, making it possible to add new commissions, workshop dates, articles and resources over time.
The result
The finished website brings workshops, residential courses, embroidery knowledge and community projects together in one accessible place. It gives prospective students greater confidence, provides collaborators with a clear view of Susie’s experience and creates a platform that can continue growing alongside the business.
