Saas UI Design

Situation: A UK supply-chain SaaS product (DDMRP) suffered from inconsistent UI and brand identity, which slowed feature delivery.

Task: Establish a unified UI, design system and prototype dashboard.

Action: Performed competitor analysis, held feature workshops, created a component library, built a clickable prototype of the new dashboard (XD) and documentation.

Result: Received positive client feedback on cohesion and usability.

2017–2021

Scriptabl

Situation: Existing e-signature workflows were clunky on mobile and did not meet complex legal-tech requirements (South Africa).

Task: Define and implement a seamless, compliant mobile e-signature app for iOS and Android.

Action: As a UX Designer and Product Owner, I led cross-functional sprints, conducted iterative usability tests with end-users, navigated regulatory compliance, produced prototypes, and liaised with all stakeholders, including the legal and development teams.

Result: Improved customer onboarding time and expanded into two new market segments within the first year of launch.

ChiDesk

Situation: A salon appointment system lacked cohesive branding and an intuitive user interface, leading to staff confusion and low adoption rates.

Task: Create a brand identity and dashboard interface to streamline appointment management.

Action: Designed the ChiDesk logo, developed hi-fi UI mockups, and created offline user guides and rollout documentation to assist the sales teams.

Result: Sales and uptake of the system increased because of the professional look.

2015–2017

Empanda

Situation: Standard LMS platforms failed in low-bandwidth regions, preventing thousands of mature students from accessing courses.

Task: Lead the design and delivery of a custom LMS optimised for intermittent connectivity and offline use.

Action: Ran stakeholder workshops, mapped user journeys, sketched wireframes in Balsamiq, managed backlog and sprints in Jira, oversaw front-end implementation of adaptive image loading.

Result: Enabled over 10,000 low-bandwidth users to engage and boosted course completion rates.

2010–2014

Democratic Alliance

Situation: Candidate nominations for local elections were managed via up to 20-page PDF forms that caused frequent errors and delays.

Task: Create a scalable digital nomination process and provide an admin dashboard for shortlisting and reporting.

Action: Facilitated requirements workshops with election officials, conducted user interviews, designed prototypes for both applicants and administrators, and created comprehensive user guides to aid the change process.

Result: Reduced form-completion time, cut back-end data-entry errors and streamlined three local and national election cycles.

2013–2014

BetonTrac

Situation: A concrete distributor in the Middle East relied on complex Excel workbooks that were error-prone and hard to update.

Task: Transform complex spreadsheets into an interactive web dashboard for order tracking and reporting.

Action: Conducted stakeholder interviews to map critical data flows, designed mockups, developed the front-end and collaborated with back-end developers.

Result: Improved accuracy and provided real-time insights of concrete movements until the company ceased operation in 2015.

Budg-e

Situation: Early-stage smartphone users received banking SMS alerts but lacked a cohesive way to review their transaction history.

Task: Prototype a mobile interface that processes SMS transaction texts and presents a clear monthly financial summary.

Action: Collaborated with the patent-holding client to wireframe the basic functionality, built static UI mockups of both mobile and web dashboard views.

Result: Delivered an MVP for user testing that informed functionality for the next development stage.
